Harshita Tomar and Shital Verma from India initially placed fourth in the women's skiff sailing event. They received a bronze medal after the Chinese pair was disqualified for an undisclosed reason. The competition took place at the Kaiyoh Yacht Harbor in Aichi, Japan. Japan finished first with 14 net points, followed by Hong Kong with 18 points. India's final tally allowed them to secure the bronze, making a historic achievement.
The changes will apply to all international series beginning on October 1 or later, while series that are already underway will continue under the existing regulations.
